Anti skid and ABS service lights

Post by d0nahuge » Thu May 28, 2020 5:09 pm

I have seen many forums about the anti skid and ABS lights appearing on the dash and I have seen many solutions. I drive a Volvo S60 2.5t FWD with 80k miles. The lights come on every once and a while, and they reset if I let the car sit for a few hours. My tires are not overinflated and I messed with the ABS wheel sensors a few months ago when replacing the struts, but the error just now came up. Lots of people say to change the clock spring, but I am hesitant to buy one when many other parts of the car could be causing the issue. Is it worth it to just go for it and buy a clock spring as it is the most common issue or should I spend the money to get my car scanned first.

I'd get it scanned. Unfortunately for me, my 05 S60 2.5t awd module was faulty. When the shop did the repair they found the ABS module had yellow junk yard paint on it for their identification, so someone tried to fix it. And mine took the pump too. I went with the Xemodex unit and its been fine for 2.5 years.
My ABS light was an "on and off" thing too. After the repair, the brakes don't feel any different. Just a lot of loot to get the ABS light to stay out.
