84 245 Blower Motor

Post by jr86565 »

am doing the blower motor repair and the replacement one has got a flat plate vs the 3 legged one with the rubber and recessed mounting bosses is it best just to grind off the raised areas that the motor mounts on?

Is it just the fastening that differs? I have noticed that it exsist two types of heating units for the 240 series. One unit never used with AC, having one fan at one side of the motor and the other type having two fans, one at each side of the fan motor. I just wan't to make this note, so you don't have totally wrong motor.

replacement motor is for A/C with 2 fan wheels. I tried a new motor before and had a clearance problem and couldn't figure but now I know blower wheels are different and the car I took it out of had heater box raised area ground down so I did same to mine and worked fine when I tested before I reassembled all the things that go around it and then the left side started making noise so I'm back to doing at least half the job again.
