Trip Computer addition Topic is solved

Hi Everyone,

I hope all is well. I was wondering if anyone ever had the experience to install trip computer on their P2 Volvo? My '04 S60 unfortunately never came with one and I would I would like to add it. I swapped the turning signal stalk with one that has the buttons, but it doesn't work. I find myself to be the only one without a trip computer; every other Volvo owner I know has it.

I did some research and it seems that the dealer has to program it and is quoting exorbitant prices.

Is there any that the trip computer can be programmed by an indie or at least a way that won't cost hundreds of dollars? I have a old DICE/VIDA that I have been trying to get it to work properly...

there are some videos about this,
I just use my smartphone so I've never investigated the vovo feature..

Thank you for sharing the video. It looks like it covers the process for any pre-P2 platform.

It makes me wonder if the trip computer software is stored within the DIM as opposed to the CEM. Can anyone confirm that?

There are 3 ways to do it:
1. Remove and send your CEM to some service who can reprogram it.
Negative sides:
you have to wait long time for shipping period
additional payment for shipping
there is risk get CEM back with some damages (include soldering issues, because most services, who can do it, they use soldering method for extract data and program it back)

BTW, we reprogram this kind of CEM without some soldering. ))
Just in case, we are in San Jose, CA

2. You can do it yourself (if you have experience with electronics stuf and understanding what need to do)
Negative sides:
you have to have special additional equipment
there is risk to destroy CEM if you are going to use soldering method for extract data and program it back

3. If you have DiCE, we can offer online service
Negative sides:
you have to have DiCE
you have to have additional tool (small tool )) - we sure you have it)
you have to have good connection to Internet
