A capitalist economy cannot exist without waste. That is why the environmental impact of manufacturing new more often is ignored.

One of the words of wisdom from my Drafting professor was "You will spend more time designing things to break than to last". It is called Planned obsolescence. Planned obsolescence is not a environmentally friendly practice but it is what this Ipswich Borough Council is engaged in.
