Another fast, cheap, dash fix

I've found that going for extended drives helps to clear ones head in these screwed up times ( though people seem to be driving crazier than ever ). As I was taking one yesterday, I happened to cross some railroad tracks. Going over them at a speed so slow that it didn't register on the speedo, I head a loud crack which I immediately identified as one of, if not the last of, my dash mounts. 100 mile drive gave me plenty of time to think of a temporary fix till I can pull the dash. While driving I found that just a little upward pressure about where my left knee rests killed most of the dash rattling, so when I got back home this is what I came up with. Took it for a drive on some bad roads ( I live off a dirt one ) and things are nice and quite. As I said just temporary, but it works.

: I use these at work. Very handy to have around.

: I folded it over and slipped it between the steering column and the dash.

: Not too visible while driving. The new ones are actually black so that would help.

Hilarious! But it works.

Reminds me of the clunker Mercedes diesel I once bought. It had a plastic syringe hanging under the dash. You pulled on it to kill the engine.

I was thinking of a piece of wood with the bag under it pushing up from the floor, so I could pump it with my left foot, but this is so much cleaner.

That's actually pretty darn clever. Before I started scrolling, and only saw the top half of the first picture, I was visualizing a two by four cut to jam under the dash!
