Black or Green coolant tank cap? Topic is solved

Senility has set in!!

Which is the correct cap to use? I know that either green or black is recommended but which one?

I am being optimistic in hoping the reason it looks like coolant has escaped passed the green cap is it is bad. However, I think that is a relatively recent Volvo part install so hoping it is not the head gasket following the overheating a couple of years ago when the radiator hose broke off in rush hour traffic.

Mine is somehow gray and it's still original.
Somebody on the forum long time ago said that "they are born bad"....but i never had a problem with it.

Green is a replacement as far as i remember.

I thought that there was a belief that either black or green was not good to use or they had different pressure values. Maybe I am just imagining it?

I was referring on gray one when someone said that they are born bad.
It seems that someones experience is that grey one should be replaced with green.

I'm using a blue one. It's only like 8lbs or 12lbs or something like that. But green is the correct one.
