Could be wrong but....

Post by redc70 »

Just me again. Decided to do the front brakes this am before it gets too hot. Everything came apart fine. The brakes and rotors are actually ok, with Volvo pads etc, but since everything had to come off the back to do the parking brakes I figured what the heck. New rotor is on but I am pretty sure these pads are the wrong ones. One on top is the one that came with the kit. Let me know, I will end up taking the whole mess down to the indie Monday or so, just not wanting to deal with it in this heat.

Actually, I just received a return code from Amazon. Looks like no new brakes for a while. It is ok though, this car is turning into a driveway project, needs the parking brake fixed, air distribution damper motor replaced and calibrated. It is for sale btw, I can see this thing just nickel and diming me to death. More worthy projects out there.

Wrong pads.
The 2nd pad on the picture you removed from the car is not for replacement.
It's in excellent shape and have a lot of friction material left.
Replacement should be done when friction material is down at 3mm.
