C30 T5 VVT Pulley Leak

Post by Gachet »

Hi everybody, I hope this message finds you guys well and safe.

I have a C30 T5 2009 and it had a major leak in the camshaft seals. My mechanic thinks that the leaking is coming not only from the camshaft seal, but also from the VVT pulley itself. He suspects the oil is leaking in that joint. Do you if that really happens? Is there a way to test it, or even opening and replacing any kind of internal seal? I’m in Brazil and parts here are pretty expensive, a new puller could be as high as 1,000 dollars.

I appreciate your help, guys! Cheers from Brazil.
