850 Singing gearbox in first gear

Post by manovlov »

Hy Buddies !

I would like to ask a question. I'm not a perfectionist but I would like to check the work done and so understand to what may correspond a noise I hear each time I change a "speed", especially when I start to engage the first gear, a noise like a "clac", we could say like a piece on metal enter in contact with another one (I try to explain as well as I can).

The work has been done in a trust garage, I've made replace by parts from Skandix :
  • the clutch
    the release bearing
    the clutch slave slender,
    the release fork,
    the radial oil seal,
the pivot pin for the clutch fork
The bearing on the engine side hasn't been replaced, which is an error, and I hear it a bit.

What 's your opinion on that noise : does it mean that the first and second gear are in bad shape ?
Is there a way to prepare this, or it's less cheaper to replace the all gearbox ?
I read a post recently that it was impossible to switch a V70 1998 gearbox manual to a 850 1995 manual one because a problem of sensor installation.

Do I just have to use a more "thick" oil ?

Thanks to all .
