2005 S80

In stop and go traffic in hot weather (80+F) engine will basically quit (Normal power not available") like a limp-home mode but the car will barely go 2-3 mph.

Let it cool for 15 min, all is well again.

Temp gauge stays right in the middle like always, cooling fan operates normally.

No check eng light

Thanks,
Bob

Do a OBD Scan. There maybe pending codes that will give you a clue.

Not a fix but take that wool blanket off the underside of the hood and throw it in the trash and see if it gets any better. First thing I do with every volvo , disclaimer , I do not live at the south pole
