Hy Buddies,
Hope you're all find.
Recently, my slave cylinder, the one on the pedal clutch side, failed. I've ordered a new one and the slave cylinder gearbox side too by the same way.
I've unbolted everything inside the car, behind pedals, included the brake booster, thinking it could be helpful to extract the pedal slave cylinder engine bay side. But I can't move the unbolted brake booster. There is a hose on the white cap I can't unplug, and so I don't also not know where it could be attached to ?
The positif point of this story is that I've successfully managed to save properly the brake fluid without to make a mess. I'm not gonna use it anyway, but,'ve taken it out properly. I've seen Robert DIY's video on the subject, but it doesn't help , I'm afraid to brake something if I force too much.
Advices would be appreciate...
Manov
Nota : few questions :
Nota 2 :
to where does this hose connect to ?
Volvo 850 one too much fixing ? Topic is solved

The cylinder on the pedal side is called the master cylinder, just like the brakes.
The master cylinder generates the pressure to work the item (clutch or brake) , the slave cylinder receives the pressure from the master and operates the clutch or brake.
The thick hose is vacuum hose right from the manifold - it sucks the air out of the booster, leaving the atmospheric pressure to help you apply the brakes when requested.
If you put a plier with some teeth on the black hose and rotate it back and forth, being careful not to put sideways force on the connector, it will slowly come off the white fitting. It is just barbed fitting (tuyau BarbelÈ, merci?)
If you really worry about breaking it, you can cut the hose and insert a standard coupling fitting into it, too.

Hy Buddies,
The work on my 850 goes on. I've succeeded to extract the leaking pedal master cylinder, and to re install the new one. I've also replace the seal on the pipe line and re install the clip.
As a newbie, i've forgotten to watch out to which where thes three hoses that come on the master cylinder were connected. I didn't fill up the brake fluid tank for the moment, waiting for a picture to see which hose goes where, a picture or an explanation.
I've seen a diagram on the web, but it doesn't correspond to my brake fluid tank.
A pic or explanation would be helpful.
Thanks to allo you.
