I have ticking at the top of my engine and someone's resolution was to change the oil with 10 w 30 synthetic and it seems that it worked for a bunch of people but it did not solve the problem for me. The engine is still ticking. I've heard that this is just lifters, which makes sense, but I want to know multiple solutions to the ticking.

Ticking lifters on the older six cylinders is a common issue. The O-ring on the oil pick up tube goes defective. When this happens it is like sucking on a straw with a hole in it. Not enough oil gets to the lifters to keep them pumped up. Solution ... new O-ring for the oil pick up tube.
