I have a 2006 S60 2.5T
The setting is: It's a 90 deg day, moving along, AC on, air blowing out vents is 40 deg
stop the car and idling, air blowing out vents is 40 deg but compressor now cycles
every 10 seconds and radiator fan rpm varies from slow to high and never shuts off
Also Temperature gauge never goes past the center and coolant level is normal

Question is: Is this normal or could there be a problem?

Two most likely causes: Low on refrigerant and / or dirty evaporator coil causing the coil to ice up. A decrease in air flow is a clue that the coli is icing up.

High volume air flow or low volume air flow when fan is on high and the compressor is short cycling?
