Bump sound when reversing XC70 in morning....?

Hi,
I have an XC70 2006 with about 100k miles on it. It's in pretty good shape.
I've noticed recently that I often hear a "bump" when I reverse out of my garage in the morning...sounds like it's coming from the rear drivers side. Almost like I ran over something...It usually occurs after I've reversed about one to two feet.
If I'm out driving later I don't hear it...seems to be only in the morning?

Any idea what this could be?

I would check the brake caliper slider pins.
... the center retainer bolt that holds the drive shaft in the wheel hub.
and the drum brake shoes, they can lose the shoe liners.
More likely to be brakes.

Best is to ask someone to do this (reverse) while you stand outside listening to the noise.
Very often the noise one hears in the cabin is different when one is outside.

Are you setting your parking brake when you park?

If not, it’s probably delaminated

No, actually hardly ever set the park brake....(should I?).
Live in the midwest so it's flat around here for miles!!

Hmm, yes probably a good idea too, try to nail down the exact source of the noise.
