1979 242 problems, flooding after start

Gifted a 1979 242-139,999 mileS
Second Volvo but not exactly a mechanic😵
Straight body all good. Had safety work done
Alignment, new bushings, some hoses
Then moody when starting- flooded w fuel
then dies HELP
Without computer codes mechanic is helpless ...

See if the fuel pressure regulator has sprung an internal leak.
Pop the vac line off and check for fuel.
Any hint of wetness ... you should swap it out.
It usually sits on the end of the fuel rail, up front.

You did see -that I not a mechanic.
Is there a picture or illustration or SOMETHING I could look at or even read to understand exactly when where and how to do this?
