Ive noticed my 2001 xc70 doesnt have a passenger seat belt reminder chime or light or it doesnt work?...i can see the latch/catch has wiring but the seat itself has no sensor/switch.
Inspired by a fellow volvo enthusiast who put Toto on his door chime, i am going to attempt something similar using volvo parts from a 2 series (seat pressure switch) and p80 (switch latch) for the passenger seatbelt reminder maybe using an ABBA song or a computer voice saying "seatbelt"

Haha, I was looking at the title and wondering what ABBA means.
Anyhow, I pulled the bottom cushion from a 2003 S60 and there was no Occupant Weight Sensor (OWS). I do remember pulling the cushion from the later seat model (mid 2004-up) and it had the sensor (which is a large flat blue bag filled with jelly and a sensor attached to it - kind of worrying to handle the thing so you don't puncture or damage the multitude of contact sensors inside)

We spent most of the 1970s also wondering this.Haha, I was looking at the title and wondering what ABBA means.
Those mats aren't delicate like neurons or eggs, but don't go putting holes in them with a Philips screwdriver, either.

okay first step/hurdle is the seat belt catch. The P2 has some type of magnetic contactless sensor that i cannot use so i installed a p80 contact sensor.
Now the CEM throws an airbag code if i unplug the contactless sensor so ive plugged it back in. I read a discussion on another forum about the passenger airbag is deactivated if the passenger seatbelt isnt latched?...i find this hard to believe that would mean if they are not wearing a seatbelt the airbag wont deploy?..but to be on the safe side ive zip tied the contactless sensor to bar under the seat.

the contactless sensor needs to be away from metal to simulate a latched belt.

Initials of the members I think? Didn’t they also bust up the marriages and swap partners during their rise to fame?

On the original topic, do you have chime when shutting off the engine, leaving the key in the ignition (at off position) and opening the driver's door with the seatbelt removed ?
