ECT failure?

On my 2004 V70 R a coolant temperature gauge does not work anymore. I have replaced ECT sensor and checked wires in a connector all looks good. After deleting the error code it takes about 5 minutes driving and ECT failure is back. Any advice where I should look?

check the wiring diagram and get to work with your multi-meter checking for continuity. Try removing the gauge from the DIM you should be seeing continuity or voltages there. At worst it could be a ECM issue but i doubt it, i put money on it being a poor connection or the gauge.

recent posts prove aftermkt sensor not dependable, a brand new sensor was no good.
Genuine volvo sensor fixed the dead guage.
