I need to switch tires from touring to all-terrain on my '91 940T wagon, but would like to avoid lifting it or change wheels to 16". Smallest all -terrain tire size I've found is 205/70R15, linked below. Anybody knows if these will fit on stock height and wheels (15")?

According to the facebook group "Lifted volvos", 205/70r15 do fit on a stock Volvo 940. Mine has 215 75 R15 and these will not fit under a stock strut

Thank you for your input - I'll go ahead and order the 205/70R15
The few people I talked to prefer the Yokohamas over the Pirellis so I'll go with those.

I'm running 215/60R15 on my 1988 760 Turbo wagon with OE 15x6 wheels. Depending on the brand used (some are wider than others) the tire rubs the inner fender at full lock but fits under the strut spring seat. 205/70R15 would be at least one inch taller than 215/60R15. (26.3 inch compared to 25.2 inch) I have ran 205/65R15 on the front with no issue.

You might also consider the General Altimax RT43. I've used them on Volvo 240, 960, S90, V70, S80, as well as 1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon, and a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood. Excellent results on pretty diverse fleet in my experience.
Frequently wrong, never in doubt.

Thank you lummert and dmg4 - I ended up installing the 205/70R15 Geolanders and they perform well for my needs
This diameter must be the largest acceptable on a stock vehicle because there's just a .6" gap left between the tire and the front spring bottom support plates.
