Bosch Injection

Post by BlackBart »

Saw this pic of a Mercedes 300SL (not the Gullwing, the roadster) and was struck by how similar this intake was to the 140 design of 1971-ish. Both Bosch engineering I assume, but separated by over 10 years.

Another WWII technical story I had never heard. She made a very practical solution to a serious problem. Thanks for the link.

These Mercedes engines used Bosch mechanical injection pumps much like diesel injection pumps. Bosch provided fuel injection systems for many European cars including Mercedes, Volvo, Saab, and VW.

MISTER Abscate! Well I never!!

Actually, that's very interesting, I learned a thing! I love it when that happens. One of my son loves his Battle of Britain planes! He can recite all the Spitfire variants.
