Hi guys. Merry Christmas
Car is year 2007, S60-2.0T , code engine B5204T5. Power is 180bhp and 240nm. Original turbo is 12T.
Auto transmission is 5 speed, AW 55-51, without semi auto gear shift.
Quite difficult to get S60-T5 2.4 with K24 turbo. The only option is to get rid out of the 2.0T and do conversion, buy S60-T5 donor car (either from UK or Japan ) . But not that easy process, and this conversion job is costly
Now, what if i maintain the B5204T5.. 2000cc engine, upgrade the turbocharger, injectors, fuel pump and finally an ecu remap.?
Before we go further discussion, i need to know what are limitations of B5204T5 engine, how much bhp and torque this engine can handle within safe limit? (bhp and nm at engine/flywheel ) .
In my mind for 260 bhp and 320nm-340nm :
Blue injectors. 396cc . from S60-T5 2.4W
Walbro/DW/ Bosch fuel pump 200-225lph
TD04HL-16T with billet fins
3” downpipe

Another option. B5254T3 which is the RNC version of the S60R/S70R B5254T4.
Green injectors. Borg-Warner K16 or K24 turbo. ECM software from a B5254T4.
Should putout 300+ Hp.

The engines as configured for the Ford Focus RS Mk. 2 and RS500 where not used in any Volvo model. They can be described as a RNC version of the S60R/V70R B5254T4 engine. Lower compression (different pistons), stronger connecting rods, same geometry Camshafts as B5254T4 but different (dual) VVT units. These engines use a bigger Borg-Warner K16 turbo instead of the K04, the K16 turbo is an integrated manifold turbocharger, it slightly outperforms the K24 used on the B5254T4 S60R/V70R engine.
You would need to remove the RNC front motor mount and bolt on a front motor mount from a RN engine. The RN mount bolt holes are still there on the RNC engine. You will need to use a intake manifold from a RNC engine. The intake bolt pattern is different. Exhaust bolt pattern is the same. There will be some hose and wiring re-routeing.
By going to a RNC engine you gain graphite coated pistons. Improved coolant circulation in the head. Internal cyclonic PCV.
Green injectors. Borg-Warner K16 or K24 turbo. ECM software from a B5254T4.
Should putout 300+ Hp.
