Locking car when warming it up?

Does anyone know how I can start the car to warm it up and lock it so I can go back in the house for awhile? The key fob will not lock the car while it’s running and I don’t want it to get stolen. I couldn’t find it anywhere in the manual, am I missing something? My Chevy truck has this ability.

For my 2004 S80 it requires both keys. With engine running and doors locked: 1st manually unlock driver door only by either lifting the fob by the window or just using the inside door handle to open the door. This leaves other 3 doors locked. 2nd shut door unlocked with key 1 in ignition with engine running. 3rd insert key 2 in door lock and turn to the right which locks the door. Remove key and now engine is running and all 4 doors are now locked.

Note: car must be unlocked with the key not fob. June

I’m guilty of this in winter. Of course, a stick shift is a pretty good deterrent nowadays. Auto theft is one of the few categories where Canada leads the US in crime, but I suspect that is partly those notorious luxury car rings in QC, Vancouver

PEI seems to have auto theft in check.

Thanks, I'll have to get another key made up. I usually only warm it up in my pleasant secluded suburban neighbourhood but one never knows who's lurking. Covid times have brought inner city scum out of city core looking for more opportunity I've noticed as of late.

Since both the S60 and XC70 listed are P2 i assume you either have the awful switchblade key or traditional Volvo key with hanging fob. Being as you will only be using the key 2 in the outside lock it doesn't have to be anything more than a cheap plain key. A cheap plain key won't start the car from what I understand. I happen to have both original switchblade keys but have lost my valet key. Volvo says the valet key cannot be replaced otherwise you could order a valet key and it would start the car. The replacement switchblade keys are expensive if that's what you have. June
