Timing belt kit w/ water pump and install help

Hello!

Looking for a timing belt kit with water pump and all the goodies. Looking to spend around $300 for a kit.

1998 V70R.

Also, if there's anyone in Wisconsin that WANTS to do the job, I can pay. If anyone has a mechanic that they trust, that might also help.

Obviously, I'll pay. I'm not expecting handouts, I would just rather give a Volvo enthusiast money than some grimy shop or dealership.

Try FCP or IPD. Volvo sells a kit. Been a while since I bought one. I think it was around $250 CDN (about $180 US) about 5 years ago. There are lots of OEM parts out there too. INA idler pulley, Conti timing belt. Those prices do not include the water pump. Hopefully someone can highlight the parts to you? Volvo recommend replacing the water pump every second belt change. If your car has high mileage or it is unknown when it was last changed (if ever) it is wise to swap it if paying someone else to do it.

Just looked up the full Volvo kit at FCP. Ouch! $530 US but lifetime warranty. There are OEM kits on there. Only water pump I would consider that is not a Volvo branded one is an Aisin which used to just have the Volvo label ground off.

Thanks for the tip! Owned the car for 2 years and I dont trust the previous owner, so I wanted to get it all done.

I suppose I should have it looked to to see if any of it looks "new-ish'' haha.

I paid £180 in parts for a genuine cambelt and water-pump set a little over a year ago. This included the tensioner and idler pulleys. Not particularly useful information as I'm on a different continent, but it might be worth ringing around various different dealers. Given they're all typically franchised its not uncommon to get vastly different prices on quotes.
