The back pipe of Shaggkira is soft and crusty..

Options

1. Starla FCP $280 lifetime

B. Walker from Parts geek $155, starla $225

iii) fab a back pipe and duct tape it the muffler and Roar Proudly

Inputs. I’m planning on driving this one another 5 years / 10k per year

I just put a Walker aluminized steel on the T4 and the fit was perfect.

I would really be surprised if a Walker aluminised pipe will last 3 years let alone 5. Maybe there are miracles out there but I never had one last that long where salt is involved. Especially where it is clamped at the rear bumper.

Clearly you are paying for the warranty at FCP based on the pricing. See if they will price match!

I installed the Starla on both the 850 and the S70, both at about the same time 1.5 years ago. It seems to be well made and the fit is perfect. Nice and quite too, can't tell the difference from the original.
So far so good, I am happy. But time will tell.

Cheapskates

The reason why FCP is not always the cheapest is probably their awesome warranty. Somehow things have to balance out.

Two ways to look at it. Cheap Scot, or smart guy. I'm a believer in life that if you don't ask you don't get! $55 for a lifetime warranty does seem steep.

My recently acquired V70 has no rear muffler, only a straight pipe. I don't notice much extra noise. Thankfully, I have an extra OEM rear muffler I'll put on.
