1999 V70 XC AWD interior lights/latch assembly

Post by adriana »

Greetings!
The interior lights in my 1999 V70 XC AWD would not turn off, so of course I was having battery issues. Then there were a couple more things that happened (coincidentally, I believe), so I took it to a shop. They are telling me I need a passenger side door latch assembly. Does this sound right? They tell me they don't have/can't find that part. Is this the correct part? They said they'd put it in for me if I could find the part. Unless there's an easy, cheaper fix? Thanks in advance. It's been a while since I visited, the site has changed and I'm sorry if the information is already here and I just can't find it.

I’ve got to catch an early flight but there is a horrific thread on this I’ll link to shortly,

If you turn the overhead switch to OFF, do the lights go out.?

Yes, the overhead lights do stay off. The light on the passenger side foot area would not turn off, so I removed the bulb. That same light on the driver’s side did turn off. The mechanic told me the passenger door light is not turning off (not sure which light, exactly), so they removed the bulb for now. Soon I will have a little bulb graveyard

The door light switch is in the door handle. Put in a request to junkyard visitors to grab an inner passenger door lock, part number 8628224

Definitely not the least expensive part, but I suppose I'll bite the bullet on this one. I'm in a rural area on the central Oregon coast. Not a junkyard as far as the eye can see! Thanks for the assist.
