Simple Steering Rack - Tie Rod Question Topic is solved

I have an 1994 850 non-turbo

Looking to replace control arms, inner and outer tie rods all together.

I ordered the parts a while ago, but before jacking it up, I wanted to do a little more research and I'm confused / worried about the inner tie rod compatibility.

according to FCP euro:

Position 21 will determine which Power Steering Rack and Pinion design your vehicle is equipped with.

Marked 4 = TRW

Marked 5 = SMI

Except, looking at my plate, in that spot I Have "21XAAMS"
there is no 5 or 4

anyone know what the right part is?

could it be one of these other spots?

Not sure that works for 850's particularly that old. I will probably be corrected, but I believe that may only work for 98- cars (V/S/C 70's).

It may be better to check one of the Volvo parts sales sites like Tasca or Lisle to see if they give you better info. Also try Skandix in Germany.
