Lately I’ve really been into finding some of the more rare options and accessories for my 2000 V70 (rear seat heater, power folding mirrors, etc). I haven’t had much luck but recently while looking through the Volvo parts site I found a “park assist” diagram:
https://usparts.volvocars.com/a/Volvo_2 ... 78854.html
I didn’t even know such a thing existed for these 20-year old cars! And it looks like Volvo still sells nearly all the parts required. I would love to try installing this just for the novelty.
Does anyone have a car with this option that can provide details—how it works, if it’s something you can do aftermarket, if the wiring is there or has to be run, etc? Thanks!
Anybody have experience with Park Assist for V70/S70?

It is radar in the rear bumper cover. Alerts you when you are backing and gets too close to a object.

Seems really expensive for an experiment. I guess each to their own.
I would suggest it may be cheaper to fit a back up camera to a newer head unit. Hardwire if you can as the wireless ones can have a delay which can be unfortunate!
I fitted this type of system to my Toyota 4Runner and so far happy with it after 3 years.
