Suspension Strut replacement or repair | Torn Spring Seat

Post by yanga001 »

Hi Everyone,

Did some reading on the forums and i found that my spring seat is torn on the driver side of the car. I noticed slightly uneven tire wear on the new tires so i am going up north to pull some old struts from the totaled car. As far as i remember they were still good although the plan is to swap, get an alignment, and slowly work my way over the old struts in terms of assessing if i can repair the spring seat or if more damage was done.

Aside from the spring seat (the rubber is torn and creaks over bumps), is there anything else i should replace in the old strut assembly to bring it back up to snuff?

Thanks!
