Post by Danonly55 »

I just picked up a 1995 850 wagon, Non turbo. Mileage stopped at 111K. It's a 1 owner car and I checked the mileage through the computer it's at 130, 224 No dents at all and interior is clean as a whistle. Will post pic's soon. Clean carfax with all service done on time. we'll see if I got a good one.

Sounds good! 95 is the best p80 year from my point of view. Airbags and SIPS, OBD1 and a stable ABS system. Enjoy!

+1. 95 was a good year of this car. Hope you enjoy the experience. Just be realistic, that even if it is lower mileage, it is 26 years old so stuff can go wrong.

My '94 850 wagon was a favorite of mine and my wife's; she still gets a little wistful about it, since it was her daily driver. There's an odometer repair guide on the site if you look around for it - I remember taking apart the dash to replace a tiny plastic gear that had failed in the instrument cluster.

Odometer fix is pretty straightforward,

Change the bulbs while you're in there.
Do NOT, under any circumstances, use the ipd video about how to get the cluster out. It's embarrassing they still have it up on their site.

Yeah, that IPD video might be reasonable from their perspective (unplugging the Airbag might be a liability problem), but it is a sure method to break the brittle dash cover.
