I purchased a NAPA ProSelect fuel filter number 23596 a few days ago. This filter is not a direct fit for the Volvo P2 original fuel filter. The NAPA fuel filter does not have the external rolled bead which the fuel line clips onto. Using the NAPA filter would require a squeeze hose clamp to keep the line from separating from the filter.
In my case, I am using this filter on my 1977 Ford truck to clean lots of rust and crud from the old fuel tank. I will use worm gear clamps and it will work. The extra large size of the Volvo style filter will reduce flow restriction and last a long time.
