CEM-1A51 Communication with SRS control module Signal

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

CEM-1A51 Communication with SRS control module Signal

Post by adryan »

Hi, this is my first post in this forum.
I am the owner of a S80 1999 D5252T (tdi audi engine)
Car is in family from new, and 6/7 year ago, it began to show the message (SRS URGENT REVISION, or something like that)
I think never hapened nothing in the car for show this DTC, i check with VIDA, that this error dont show in the first 3 second of start the car, but after, always

I think the problem is in the SRS module, some people say that is a error from CEM, but i just have this error in whole car.
I checked the connector and visual wiring of the module, plug and unplug and clean the coonnector, and everything looks OK, i should to try to replace this srs module ( 50-60€ 70-80 $) , maybe problem is in other place, but no crash and no repairs in car that it can generates a problem in there.

You know what error vida should show if i repalce the module for a used from other car, if it shows an other code ****, with a coding of the "new" module it would be fixed.?
Can i coding with d5t5/ vdash or i just oficial dealer can do it this operation?
What would you do?

I hope you understand my english!

Thanks!!!

I can corroborate on the SRS control module, and the DIM. I changed out my SRS module with one a year older (2002 V70 2.4T vs 2001 XC70) and got a communication faulty error (SRS-00D1, maybe?). I also tried a 2004 S50 DIM in my car ('02 V70 2.4T) and no dice. I didn't check VIDA to see the errors as I didn't have it at that time. My experience FWIW.

Best,
Bert

Pull the center console and check the connector, wiring and power to the SRS module. It could be as simple as cleaning the connector.
