instrument cluster backlighting

Post by MDK »

This is probably a question for the moderators, or some other Volvo efficienado. So the backlighting on my V70 R is some what lack luster. A few years ago I was at the junkyard and harvested , not a few bulbs from the back of some gauge clusters. This morning I took mine and out and suprise ! no bulbs. Apparently, they are integrated. Do anyone out there in community have any idea where to go next? As always, any suggestions are appreciated.. MDK

Are they surface mount LED's ? thats a job for an iPhone repair shop.
Microscope and needle tip soldering iron.
I'd rather polish my muffler.

well Soldion.. they're not as bright as they should be.. on my 2002 V70 I had. I replaced the bulbs in the gauges. Just flipped it over.. however the R's.. apparently are not the same.
