v40 struts and lift kit?

Post by Type1990 »

Peace peace. Been having issues with finding struts for my 2004 Volvo v40. I’m currently looking for a lift kit or to raise my suspension based on my height and if anything I need a strut replacement on my driver side. I’m trying to find out where I could find the best struts and what I may need to help raise it. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff, however I have some basic knowledge on stuff and gear. Idk whether to pick Monroe or any other company. Another thing, what’s the difference between regular struts and coilovers? And my last question for curiousity, does the s40/v40 have interchangeable parts?

Hi,

Yes I know it's very late to be posting a reply. I bought a set of coilovers from KSport in Arizona for my 2000my V40. I used them to lower the car about 1.25 inches all around but there's nothing to stop you from raising the car. The amount you can raise and lower will be limited, you won't be able to make a Baja racer out of it. In my case, with slightly stiffer shock settings (more so in the rear, it's a wagon) the car is super stable and always goes where it's pointed. I haven't yet found the limits of its handling.
