Has anyone installed a new angle/bevel gear sleeve, lots of info on removal but hardly nothing on install. VIDA says it needs to be heated to 150c in an oven, but mine slides on without heat also it shows the green oring pn 976041 sitting between the shaft seal and the sleeve, this is not possible as its diameter is too large?
VIDA says the sleeve should not stick out more than 41mm but because of the green oring mine sticks out to about 43mm, ive tried pressing it in but the o ring pushes it back out.
Is this placement of green o ring correct?? im worried about the sleeve moving in and out and leaking again, maybe thats why volvo pressed it in there?
NOTE: VIDA also says that to remove the AG you need to lower the sub-frame and remove the exhaust pipe, both of those steps i found unnecessary.
*picture isnt mine but shows it the way i installed it

the engine is the same, only the steering universal joint is on the other side but does not come in the way. All good others have posted on another forum helpful info

Here's a link to a post I did last year, It is for an automatic not 5 speed which doesn't have the green o-ring but provides some insight on collar sleeve protrusion and installed depth. The collar sleeve has an inner circlip that controls the depth on the angle gear. That your's is pushing out slightly or pushing on the o-ring is probably engineered to provide good sealing would be my guess. The straight cut spline shouldn't cause any axial movement on the collar sleeve so I believe a minor interference caused by the o-ring would be helpful in sealing. This thread is a bit lengthy but I hope it helps.
