I have a 850 Wagon.
It started fine today but when I tried to go to work it is pretty much dead. I think this will be a minor issue at best.
Start with basics:
All lights on the dash light up. I have power.
New Battery in last 5 months
Starter has never given an issue
New PNP switch in the last year.
I put a new shifter knob on and it has been glitchy taking key out of ignition after the button on shifter cracked a bit.
Just started getting ABS/Tracs in the last few weeks and have noticed brake pedal seems very sensitive almost like it applies brake lights (no braking) when going over bumps, etc
Going to replace it no matter what.
What would cause both a no start and not able to shift out of park condition? I am thinking brake pedal switch for sure but where else should I start looking?
No start, will not shift out of park

Ignition switch?
And the brake switch may simply be out of adjustment.
Find a big window to use as a mirror and check it out.

^^^ If not OE part i would check it again.
I put a new shifter knob on and it has been glitchy taking key out of ignition after the button on shifter cracked a bit.
^^^ Remove the knob and check the pin on top of the lever.Could be that it's jammed and because of that you are unable to move from park.
At least....you can push it down and move the lever.
What would cause both a no start and not able to shift out of park condition?
^^^If button on shift knob is broken or doesn't push the button on top of the lever...that's why you can't move the shifter out of park.
If it's jammed somewhere in the middle way from P to R....that's why it will not crank.
When you remove the knob...move it to N and try to start it.
After that try starting it in P.
That will reveal if it is bad PnP switch problem...again.
