Hi. Does anyone know what type of plastic is used inside the return fuel line to quick connector on the fuel pump?
What is the best repair product to use?
The only posts I found here were about repairing the connector at the fuel filter, or dealing with the delivery side.
The Dorman fuel line products are hard to get in my area and are a bit expensive.
The ID of the line is only 4mm, so must avoid a glue that will expand, but can be applied evenly. Can likely reinforce on
the outside with the same or another product.
The line broke right at the quick connector (was really stuck). But I'm thinking it could be repaired as it is the low pressure side.
Local dealer is stating 3-4 weeks special order from the factory in Sweden (no stock in Canada), assuming they still make the line.
Some choices are: Permatex Ultra Grip, Krazy Glue, or JB Superweld brush on (cyanoacrylate or similar type of super glue).
I have some JB Plastic Weld 2-part (different type of formulation) and Lepage Ultra Gel super glue (at different location than car).
There is a Loctite Plastic Bonder that looks promising but is not available in my area. Home Depot has Superbond.
Many products will not work on PP or PE plastics (Permatex, Lepage, Gorilla).
I had some luck using JB Plastic Weld or Permatex Pit Crew Adhesive in the past on some Volvo plastics.
I previously changed the fuel pump on two 850s without much issue. This could be the original pump on the '98 S70
(lasted until 2020). A local mech thinks it's a good idea to keep your tank 3/4 full in winter to help the pump last longer.
Tx.

I use plastic tubes for trucks' pneumatic systems, they're provided in different diameters. Attaching to connector using hot air gun, applying some sealant, Victor Reinz (black) or Abro 999 (grey).
If my English is bad, please correct me

In the USA, these heavy truck hoses are available in 0.25, 0.38, and 0.50 inch outer diameter with Department of Transportation approval for air brake systems with operating pressures to 150 PSI. This is good tubing and suitable fitting are also available. Sources include heavy truck supply stores and repair shops.

When I did my repair I used methyl methacrylate or “ super glue”
I found a dispenser I really like for this product from Loctite…

I believe the hard lines are reinforced Nylon material
