Skandix group order June 2024

Post by FireFox31 »

Skandix has many parts we can't get in the USA, including parts they have created. The trouble is, they're in Germany and want $150 to ship to the USA. Thankfully, that price includes up to 60 pounds of parts. Let's do a group buy of parts from them and equally divide the shipping.

Matthew, feel free to share this with all the MVS forums. If we exceed 60 pounds of parts, I can ask Skandix if the increased shipping price will still be reasonable.

MVS members from the USA are welcome to join in. MVS members elsewhere in North or South America may join in, but shipping from me to you will be expensive, adding on to a portion of shipping from Germany.

Limitations include:
Don't order any extra large items which would cause higher shipping charges. If you really need them, I can ask Skandix about it, but the price will likely be high.

Don't order anything with core charges unless you want to pay to ship your core back to Germany.

Here's how it works:
During the month of October 2021, post on this thread with parts you need. Include the item name and Skandix product number.

On November 1, 2021, I'll PM you asking for payment for the parts, your share of shipping to the USA, and estimated shipping from me to you. I accept payment via PayPal. Anyone who doesn't reply in a week will be removed from the order.

On November 8, 2021, I'll place the order.

I'll receive the order hopefully during late November, before the Black Friday mailing rush starts. I'll contact each participant to confirm the order and request any additional money needed to ship to them.

In early December, I'll mail the parts out to everyone, early in the Christmas mailing rush. I ship using USPS.

Let me know what you think about this and any adjustments you can think of.

Hy Firefox,

I'm ready to help you in that if help is needed. I may order parts for US MVS members and send it to its destination over the USA.

In general, it's explained on the catalog.

This V70 license plate bulb socket is an example of a part created by Skandix. The brand is labeled as "Skandix". However, it is available from FCP (though on clearance, maybe not to return) so it's just an example.

Highly recommend this bracket if you are planning on joining him ( I can't because I'm in Canada ) :

It's a bracket for the rear muffler right near the bumper that usually rusts off.

Thankfully, FCP has that Skandix exhaust hanger bracket and a few other aftermarket versions. I recall having seen many other Skandix parts only available from them, yet can't think of specific examples. Maybe the 740 and 240 guys need this info for the classic parts they offer.

You can participate if you don't mind paying shipping from USA to Canada as well as your portion of the shipping from Germany. I'm in New Hampshire, so maybe you're near by and shipping will be reasonable. Check USPS and UPS for estimates.
