Small pop when straightening wheel after tight left hand turn.

Post by clarkerussell »

Hello all,

I have replaced the L&R control arms, DS Sway bar link (It was loose and ruined), axles, and axles seals on my 1998 S70 and all seemed fine until I did a tight left hand turn. When the car gets back to about dead center, there is a slight "pop" sound... it only pops once and it only happens after a tight left hand turn, but it happens every time... No clicking/popping during the tight turn, just once the car gets back to "straight".

My first reaction was this is an issue with the crappy Cardone axle I installed, but then assumed if that were the case it'd be happening DURING the tight turn, not after.

Any thoughts on what could be happening?

Is the steering arm / tie rod end just catching on something?

Thanks for the direction, I will jack it up and take a look tonight... In the mean time, does my assessment of it not likely being the axle sound right?
