I need to replace the brackets on my V70R as they are badly worn and pitted which I think may be adding to a poor brake feel.
I have cleaned and lubed everything, calipers are good and free front and back and new Zimmerman rotors and Akebono pads on the front, rears are Volvo originals in good condition.
Brake flexi-hoses all replaced about 5-6 years ago and car has only done about 6000 miles in that time. Brakes were flushed by dealer about 3 years ago.
To the point.
I need the hard to find 302mm front rotor brackets. Volvo ones are currently discontinued and the only choice is Skandix parts. Has anyone used these and do you have an opinion on how they are holding up?
IPD do have Volvo re-man'd brackets for $150 US which may be another option but shipping is crazy.
Thanks,
Neil.

Can you post a picture? The only place pitting matters is on the slider surface , and you could even weld that and grind it smooth easily. Let me know if you want to go the skandix route, I think you get better shipping to Canada than the US

I looked at the shipping. $75 for shipping. I had thought about the welding idea. I have a welder and a buddy who was a pro welder so could try that as a back up plan. It is the faces that have deep grooves in them.
I have found a place that has OE in stock, but again shipping is large and then border taxes takes them up to $250 CDN+ a pair. Seems to be what it works out from everywhere including FCP. I have been watching as some places want a core charge!
Originally I was going to buy a pair of re-built loaded calipers from NAPA, but they seem to be having supply shortages in the 302mm bracket options. That way I was at $250 CDN but also had a set of re-built caliper in the stash for when they are needed.
There is no real rush as this is part of my planned refresh when 'Kristina' (aka Christine) is resting over the winter. I have to swap the front dust shields with the new ones in the stash so might as well get this done at the same time.
Thanks,
Neil.

I haven't been on Swedespeed in years, and nor do I use Instagram. I will look on Swedespeed though and thanks for the headsup!
