What gaskets need to be replaced when doing head gasket?

Post by 02V70 »

I am going to replace my head gasket, and I found a kit that includes many gaskets. However some gaskets I have not found while taking apart the volvo. It shows some of the cam gaskets twice while I only found one. They are circled in red. Do I need them, and what are they?

Are there other gaskets I would need that the photo doesn't show?

There are several variation on the cam seals so your kit includes seals that you don’t need.

You may or may not have banjo washersd4pemding on PCV

The two double Chamber gadgets are for the thermost housing. You only need one of these, the one that matches

The o-ring upper right is for the water pipe in the rear/ right side of engine

The two metal gaskets are for the two styles of manifold to drop pipe gasket

Don’t use those small valve stem seals, Volvo only , and only needed if you are doing a valve job ( which you should)
