Great concept. Why would part throttle be such a fuel economic problem? Couldn't you either run the turbine on full rpms charging the battery and then turn it off? The smallish size of the batteries would be a problem, I guess. And then maybe firing up the turbine might waste alot of fuel as well.
Thoughts, anyone?
