2012 C30 Premier Plus questions
Greetings! I am thinking about purchasing a 2012 C30, and am wondering if timing belt issues are as common with this model as they are with all of the older models I've purchased? I think it's a chain rather than a belt, is that correct? This Volvo has 82,000 miles and does not appear to have had the timing belt replaced. As with older models, is it also a good idea to have the water pump changed out at the same time? Is anyone aware of problems particular to this make and model? Would it be within reason to negotiate these repairs if I were to buy the car? I'm upgrading from a 1999 Volvo V70 XC AWD, which, by the way, has only 130,000 miles on it. I'm sort of in love with this C30, thanks in advance!

I'm not in a position to do the work myself, haha, but thanks! I spoke with my mechanic today, who quoted me a price far less that what the dealer is willing to negotiate, so I'm...negotiating! He told me about all of the things included in timing belt replacement, which I kind of already knew. Waiting for the dealer to get back to me now.
