98 S70 t5, damaged fuel pipe & part discontinued

I backed out of my driveway with a front tire flat, then noticed some gas leaking. Had it towed to the mechanic and they said the fuel pipe needs to be replaced

They said it is part # 9186288 but they can't find the part. volvopartswebstore also doesn't have it

Anyone have ideas for either an alternate piece that would work, or else how I can otherwise get a hold of one? Also I don't trust myself to DIY, so if something involves some jiggyrigging how often would an actual mechanic do this

If you can post pictures of the damage and where it is on the car we may be able to give you some guidance. A lot of the hard-line fuel pipes are no longer available from Volvo, but guys have repaired damaged or rusted pipes but if we can see what we are working with it makes it easier to help.

Part has been discontinued. Even in Sweden it is listed as no longer being made.

Repair or used part are the options.

Where are you in the world as some guys have parts cars and may be able to help you. It is hard to ship long lengths of pipe but there may be someone near you.

It looks like a straight piece of flexible pipe connecting the rollover valve. It’s hard to get a shop to do this stuff nowaday, unless it’s a restoration type shop.

That is the pipe from the fuel filter to the the fuel pressure regulator. On a AWD it is a solid pipe under the plastic cover under the floor. Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a FWD? AWD is on top of the fuel tank on the passenger side.

FPR is down on the steering rack on a 98 FWD, passenger side.

Thanks Erik. Good to know as they are NLA so may be worth the effort of pulling pipes and FPR's for others when at PnP if there are any there. Need to make up that tool for disconnecting the fuel pipe at the tank. Mislaid the last one!
