Photography thread

I did a search and found an old thread last posted in back in 2012. Rather than trying to revive an old thread I thought I'd start a new one.

There are a lot of great pics in the old thread, and I'd like to see a new "non-car related photography" thread with more great pics in it. Anyone have any non-car related pics they'd like to post? (Assuming Matt is ok with a picture thread that might take away bandwidth from the site?)

I'm planning on getting back into photography when I'm able to walk around easier, and mostly plan on doing landscapes and maybe some macro shots of things in nature I find that looks interesting to me.

I don't currently have any pictures to post, yet, but hopefully in the near future I will. I have a Pentax K-70 dslr with a couple of zoom lenses to get me started. I noticed most of what was posted in the old thread were taken with Nikon or Canon cameras. I like to be different, which is why I have a Pentax, plus I'd rather spend my money on my Volvo (when needed) rather than the higher priced Nikon/Canon camera body/lenses.

I have an old Pentax SLR and a collection of used lenses. I used to take a lot of photos years ago, but have not taken any photos recently other than cell phone use.
I also have an old Nikon SLR with a shutter problem. Unfortunately, there is no Matthews Nikon Site to tell me how to repair it.
With all that said, I would like to see yours and others photos. I can share some travel photos of years ago. Here is one from New England I like. I do not remember where it was taken.

I plan on posting when I'm able to get out and walk around a lot easier, and when I'm able to take some nice pics.

I like waterfalls, and I bet that little house down by the water has an amazing view of it (and from the bridge in the background). Very nice pic.

I have studied this photo a lot (it has been used a computer wall paper). The rocks on the left side look like remains of a mill - perhaps to grind grain. The small house may have been a small water powered electric plant. The photo was taken from a highway bridge with pedestrian walkway. Perhaps someone can identify the location. Perhaps New Hampshire?

It has a lot of interesting items in it. I didn't even notice the rocks on the left being an old building until I looked again and saw window openings.

This is a really nice idea for a thread. Somehow I missed the old one.

Just like you guys I used to do a lot of photography in the old days and I still have all my cameras. I started off as a teenager with a Konica TC SLR with a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. Then much later I bought a Nikon N80 with a couple of lenses. I didn't use that one for very long before I bought a Nikon D5000 DSLR. In recent years I used it mostly only on vacations.
I will go through my photos and see what would be interesting to post.

The old thread I found here through search was last posted in back in 2012, long before I was a member. There's some really nice pics in the old thread, which gave me the idea to start a new thread.

I started off with a Minolta in middle school then got into Nikon stuff high school and then shot for the Courier Express in Buffalo through college.

SWMBO got me a nice digital SLR one Christmas which I still take out on occasion

Here are some of my favourite scenes I often stop and shoot , both in upstate NY. Not best composure.

The old Pentax is actually a Yashica. I had forgotten the brand.
