Any clever ideas for hiding a reverse camera?

"Technology creep" has set in to my 1998 S70 GLT, and I don't appear to be able to stop it. For example I just bought of all things a reverse camera for my fancy new touchscreen stereo. In my mind at least I'm halfway to a Tesla.

I'm a little worried about mounting the reverse camera out in the open though, since my car is often parked overnight in a dicey-ish section of San Francisco, and I figure if a crackhead sees a reverse camera they'll know I'm hiding a good stereo inside. I might be over-estimating their thinking process, but all it takes is one.

Any ideas, other than the good ol license plate mount?

How about drilling a hole in the lid of the trunk and fitting an old style car round door lock and then find a way to fit and seal it inside that. I think the 850 sedan had one like this:

+1 on the trunk lid above the license plate. If you tuck it high enough shouldn't even notice it. Been thinking of doing something like this too.

A reverse cam is a good idea i always meant to get one. But yeah, it's a bit tricky to set up and connect to a monitor and everything.
Maybe one day i'll join the crowd and get one.

Getting to this thread i got a Harbor Frieght ad, i do go there once in a while so it was interesting.

My only warning on back up cameras is do NOT get a wifi version or bluetooth. They have a lag in the signal to the screen and and I know of people who have backed into stuff. Hard-wired is harder but on a sedan it is not too bad a wagon is more challenging. I fitted a back up camera to my 2003 Toyota 4Runner and it is just one of those that mount to the license plate surround. It works very well but in this case it was a swine to fit due to the make up of the rear grab handle.

I've seen people drill a hole through the license plate and mount from behind the plate only showing the lens.
