240 Door Lock Cylinder Question

Post by warmblood58 »

My favorite gal broke off the door lock key (driver's side) inside the lock and she managed to not break it off where it meets the door but a fairly small end piece of the door key - I've used all the known tricks and cannot coax it out. I noticed the key she broke and our other key are both slightly twisted so apparently she has been applying to much torque turning lock in cylinder . . . don'tcha just love em? Anyhoo . . if I pull door panel and remove door lock cylinder do I have any access from the back side of door lock cylinder to push out small broken key piece? Anyone know? Thanks!

I tried to look at one of my old 240 cars, but the lock is removed. I do not know if there is a hole for access. Get a different lock with key at salvage yard?

I looked at one of my junker 240's. There is not access on the back side of the lock cylinder to push out the key.
