Can I just bolt new Bosch OEM TPS onto ETM?

Do you have a failing Electronic Throttle Module? What steps to take if you do, plus the latest ETM news. Volvo 1999-2002 models only please.

Can I just bolt new Bosch OEM TPS onto ETM?

Post by helmbelly »

I have a 2001 XC70 with 190K and the yellow sticker ETM is shot. I bought the car at 130K and suspect the original owner got the yellow sticker through the recall. I have the OEM Bosch TPS (0280122001 ) which is just two bolts and a plug. This is just a bolt off, bolt on solution with an electric plug. Seems like it would contain a new contact and since I'm throwing code P0121 this is easiest route?

However I'm not reading about any people doing this- so I'm thinking there's gotta be a catch ! ?

You need to replace the four bolt ETM assembly under the intake manifold with a working unit

$1000 at Volvo
$600 at Xemodex

$50-200 at junkyard or used part route, the trick here is to match software to avoid another $200 at dealer for software load
