SRS On After Replacing Seats Vida Wont Clear Codes

Post by Robopat »

Hi everyone,
I need help fixing my 13 S60 T5 AWD.
The problem I have is after replacing the full interior of my car with leather seats including door panels and center compartment box I got the dreaded SRS light on. I disconnected the battery but only after I already replaced the back seat. I used VIDA to clear the codes but goes away for a second and comeback I did the process to force the codes to be erase as it shows on the screen, starting engine, rev to 1500rpm, engine off, engine on for 20 secs but still doesn't go off.
On the older seats I got the recall for the seatbelts done,I wonder if the new (to me )seats from eBay didn't have the recall done and that's what triggering the code.
I notice that the connector under the seats have more plugs than the original harness. Everything works fine even the seats functions I didn’t have before is just the SRS thaT won’t go away.

These are the codes popping up:
SRS-B00501D Driver Seatbelt Sensor - Circuit current out of range.
SRS-B00521D Passenger Seatbelt Sensor - Circuit out of range.
SRS-B00791B Driver Seatbelt Pretensioner B Deployment control-Circuit resistance above threshold.
SRS-B007A1B Passenger Seatbelt Pretensioner B Deployment Control -Circuit resistance above threshold.
PBM-U045268 Invalid Data Received from Restrain control module- Algorithm Based Failures-Event information.
CCM-B102F4A Auxiliary Switch- System internal failure Incorrect component installed.
IAM-B119F13 GPS Antenna - Circuit open.
The last 2 codes I think are due to 3 extra plugs that came with the new harness on the center console.
Im in NY and I won't pass inspection with SRS light on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ill attach picture of extra plugs.
I hope im posting in the correct outlet. Thank you in advance.

You need VIDA or a higher end scanner to clear SRS Acodes, but , good news on the inspection, for the Nys DMV website
Your vehicle's Air Bag Warning Lamp will be checked for proper operation. You will be informed if the vehicle's air bag warning lamp is on or is not working. This is an advisement only and not cause for rejection.

I don't know about 2013, but on 2001 V70, if you disconnect the SRS connectors while battery is connected, you will get a fault code. If you try to get a code reader to reset the SRS, be sure to carefully research the capabilities of the reader before you purchase. When I had to reset mine, I searched a while before I found a suitable one. The one I have from AutoPHIX, does not cover 2013 models, but they may have others code readers that will.

Warning to others: Never have battery connected while SRS wiring is disconnected. Reset is a problem!
