Hi mecheng. Let me know what it would cost to ship to me in Calgary! With the potential 96 850 that looks like going to US to my brother on a very tight budget, any parts that help keep the Stage '0' and any other surprises to a minimum would be appreciated.

Postage is to Post Code: T2L 1G4 if you can let me know what that would be and how you want it sent.

Thanks,

Neil.

I am in a quandary here as the project fell through so now I don't need 850 parts. But I also feel guilty as you have gone to so much trouble.

The car owner's son decided that although we had agreed on me taking the car that he should have it so that was it. I guarantee it will still be there in a years time and will then get scrapped.

Well it is now their problem!

If you have another home for the stuff then let them have the stuff, if not I will take it and add to the huge pile I have!

No worries bud, you’ve helped me with problems in the past. It wasn’t hard to lookup the cost. I know the problem with too much stuff, that’s why I need to trim down.

I have shelves and shelves of stuff. What I am trying to do (not well!) is starting to give stuff to local owners of the older P80 cars. I help out a few local owners with advice and help as well as wrenching for a couple of folks (don't charge them as money is tight for them). It is my way of giving back to the community now I am retired. It can almost keep me out of trouble!

I have about 1400 sq ft of garage space and a lot of shelves and workbenches with shelves covered in parts!

Thanks for the understanding! If they do hang around for a while I will take them and try to find homes locally as being retired I possibly have more time on my hands!

Four fairly easily, but I am now waiting for a 2 post hoist (used) to be installed. A 50 year dream! It is actually 2 garages. The original garage is built under the back of the house and the yard slopes to the back. It has a low roof and lower door (just over 6'6"). However it is useful for the old 'R' to store it over the winter and has plenty of work bench and storage at 14 ft wide and 26 feet long. It still has it's up and over door as it acts as extra security. The other garage has 29ft x 29ft floor and 12 ft ceiling and then there is a small ramp between the 2 garages so you can drive into the old garage from the new. The apron is about 100 sq ft between them and it is enclosed. Lots of lights, a couple of large windows and side mount motors on the two x 9ft wide x 8ft high doors. I like those as they have hardwire connection to the garage router and controls to my phone with electric interlocks on the door frames. Oh and it also has it's own furnace and heating ducts and wifi thermostat to m phone as well.

It was my retirement dream to allow me to potter on the cars and any other projects in reasonable comfort as too many old injuries make rolling about under old cars and even making tire changes over the winter much easier!

I appreciate I am very lucky and now just need to use it more now most of the house renos are done with hopefully only the ongoing maintenance any house needs!

That sounds amazing. I built a garage addition to my house, I don’t have hvac but I insulated it and it’s attached to the house. The finishing touches are so time consuming. I just started the vapour barrier and then I will install drywall. I had to wait 4 months for my garage door to arrive! Apparently garage doors are hot. I plan to setup a work bench with my construction and auto mechanics tools but there is always something else to add or finish before I do. It’s empty now I keep my e90 in the main garage but I think I will buy the mk8 GTI, it’s getting rave reviews and is practical.
I rarely to never see any old Volvos driving around anymore. I love all the Volvo turbo wagons, your garage setup sounds nice. What finish do you have on your floors and walls?
