Swaybar links and tie rod end links are notorious issues on S60’s. I would start with the swaybar links if when the vehicle is off the ground there is any vertical movement when you grab hold, the PAIR need replaced. Secondly the tie rod end links go bad often… While you still have the vehicle in the air, you rock your tire up and down and front and back you see much movement they need replaced as a pair. Both are fairly easy repairs, the first is a heck of a lot easier if you have access to an impact wrench. If you do they will break free a BUNCH easier. S60 2002 Front end clunking

Why would FCP sell this kit then? What are the signs of a control arm needing replacement? 3). The older inner tie rod doesn’t have the wrench indentations like the replacement. Does this item still unscrew from the steering rack? Do I simply put the pipe wrench on the round outer section and grind on it until it loosens? 4). The Haynes manual that I have doesn’t mention the re-torque specs for the steering…

LPT motors are great when it comes to the low end grunt it takes to get AWD cars moving, but the wastegate setting is critical to get that early boost development that makes these cars so nice off the line. If you haven’t set your wastegate yet I can’t stress how much that will affect driveability.
