The 850’s upper engine mount is designed to hold the engine in place. Without it, the engine would thrash back and forth in the engine bay and damage nearly everything near it. There are two lower engine mounts that are responsible for the engine’s weight, but these are out of scope for this How To section.

My pump had two outlets on it – most aftermarket pumps have only one. I’m not sure where the second line goes, so I purchased a Volvo original with the two outlets. This is a good time to remove the T junction and extra tubing for the headlight washers which are most likely no longer working. Plug in the pump and test.

i read that if you remove it and put it in freezer it contracts the rubber piece also putting the new piece in the freezer will make it easy to insert…havent tried it yet
I am happy to find a good site to find instructions to repair my Volvo S80. It is very hard to find quality information.
I bought the mount with the rubber piece inside as a unit. How do I knock the other one out?
